Like every year, the Tube Council (the North American tube producers association) meets to reward the best packaging tubes during the Tube of the Year Competition. Tubes are evaluated on different criteria, such as decoration, shape, texture, ease of use or technical innovation.For the 2021 edition, the judges awarded Aisa’s GOLD Paper tube in the Innovative Component/Process category![embedyt]https://youtu.be/QQMjeVz6vKQ[/embedyt]The GOLD tube “Taj Mahal” is a Ø50mm Decoseam™ paper laminate tube, flexo printed and produced on Aisa’s SAESA®100 Hiflex line. For the first time in tube packaging, we used embossment as decoration method, with a gold foil embellishment to beautifully highlight the Indian wonder. Decoseam™ is the unique technology capable of handling paper as a material to produce high-performing packaging tubes. Thanks to the thin internal and external strip band used to edge weld the paper laminate, the product is 100% protected over the entire side seam length. Without a doubt, the SAESA®100 Hiflex tube production machine is the perfect ally for producing eye-catching bio-based tubes.

For the first time, most entries concerned sustainable tubes, which confirms the trend witnessed these last years in the cosmetics and oral care industry. The big winner among all tubes examined is in fact a recyclable package made of PCR materials produced by Albéa Americas, the “Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask”.
